Marcus Lang - Lead backcountry guide
I am a resident of Sleepy Eye, Minnesota, a small town with a population of ~3500 and I’ve been riding snowmobiles since I was about knee high. It all started when my dad got me into snocross racing, starting on a 120cc. I raced up through the ranks until I was 17. I met A.J. towards the end of my snocross career and we raced for the same team for a few years. Following my racing career, I spent the winter of 2019 riding out west and knew I was hooked on backcountry mountain riding. I decided to start college in the middle of the COVID-19 pandemic and took all my classes online while working at a welding shop during the year 2020. Welding and taking classes didn’t fulfill me, so I reached out to a snowmobile guide company in Steamboat Springs, CO, and worked as a trail tour guide. I quickly started doing backcountry tours during the days and wrenching on snowmobiles in the evenings during the 2021 and 2022 riding seasons. During that time, I learned a ton about backcountry navigation and I’m excited to apply that knowledge to provide you with an unforgettable experience. I love showing our clients hidden gems buried in the Colorado mountains and how to be a quick problem solver to navigate those environments. My goal as a backcountry guide is to keep you safe while enjoying the CO backcountry. When I’m not riding sleds, I enjoy farming and building demo derby trucks for county fairs in the summer. I hope we can get out riding this winter and I’m excited to show you what PBA is all about!
Who We Are
A.J. Stoffle - Lead backcountry guide:
As a lifelong resident of Craig, Colorado, I’ve lived my whole life recreating in the national forest and the backcountry summer and winter. This has given me a wealth of knowledge in navigating the backcountry. I grew up in a snowmobiling family. In the early part of my life, I raced Snocross for 17 years. By the end of my career, I was racing professionally with multiple national circuit podiums and competed in overseas events in Sweden. This era provided me with the opportunity to develop my skills on a snowmobile. I have since transitioned those skills from racing into backcountry snowmobiling, spending my winters full-time in the backcountry. From 2020-2022 I was a guide for a backcountry snowmobile company in Steamboat Springs, CO. This is where my passion for guiding and educating new people on the sport I love was found. I want to use my lifelong experience snowmobiling to provide a service for the public. Together, we can break away from overpriced ski-town tourism and get into the true snowmobile paradise that Colorado offers.
